Employment Agencies

With the recent pilot hiring trend and movement of the recruits to new markets or to greener grasses I would like to start a debate on the notion of cutting the hands of the agencies off the deals.
I don’t honestly see any justification for the cut they are enjoying.
How can we facilitate encourage and prompt a direct hire with out a third party involvement?
Your constructive opinion is appreciated.
This is a flight deck motion and the agencies are asked to stay put.

Sadly, some airlines resort to the use of contract companies to circumvent their own country's labor laws. By nominating an offshore agency as the "employer" they think they can get out of the "statutory entitlements" imboglio. Such proposition is arguable at law, in many jurisdictions. Given that British law clearly defines the employer/employee/contractor scenario, the contract companies bound by British law precedents are walking on the wildside.

Given the above, we are stuck with employment through the agencies, some good, some ordinary, and some downright thieves.

It behoves us all to be very careful in our selection of whom we choose to act as our intermediary. Ask around, listen to the experiences of those who have been there before.

Personally, I have worked with three agencies, two good and one thoroughly rougeish. I have had good experiences with Cambridge recently and PARC a long time ago. In between I worked with, and sucessfully sued IAC Pacific for witholding salary without lawful excuse. I would never work with them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone else.

They will probably try to sue me for defamation, AGAIN, but who gives a schmit, the bickie barrel is empty. They are nothing but a bunch of pricks. (How are you going Jimbo, you poisonous dwarf)

Regards

Maui

Hmm Loopy just read your thread. I agree in an ideal world would be good, but would you like to go to some of these countries on your own without the backup of the Agency, as the previous reply said there are good and bad dont judge them all as bad . Imagine being in a country where they dont pay your salary, lock you up for doing something that was nor your fault. Granted some agencies will say tough mate,,, but the good ones will stick by you. Personally if I was going to some of these dodgy countries I wold prefer to have the back up of an Agency. Thats my thoughts for what they are worth........

And imagine being in such a country, any country, where one would be required to pay income tax etc.

As an example, in India, a Captain would be in the highest tax band but not only that, he/she would also be taxed, in this highest band, for the monetary equivalent of any transport, accommodation, even breakfast, that were provided to him by the airline!
