B737 Indian Contracts

It is a few months since India started recruiting B737 crews. Nearly every agency has been offering positions, and usually with the 2 main operators, Air India Express & Jet Air.

Could we please have some feedback about the operations from people out there.

1. Are there major differences between the agencies or the airlines?

2. Is what you found what you expected?

3. What about accommodation & salary? Good promises, but what is the reality? Does anyone have their spouse with them, and how is it?

4. How is the flying roster and general working day?

5. I heard some different offers such as 8 days off per month, some consideration of 6 weeks on 2 off. What is the truth?

6. We've been told that the minimum contract period is 6 months on DGCA insistent. Is this enforced, or even a problem?

7. How long did it take to do an OCC and get on line?

8. Is pay from day 1 or once on line?

9. Is there anyone doing sim only? Risworth was offering that deal; no flying.

10. Are there any TRE's (flying) with some info particular to their duties?

Many thanks for any info. As India is expanding so rapidly I suspect there will be many of us curious about how it is going. I'm not sure I could survive the summers, but that is yet to be tested by the vanguard crews out there.
