This is by no way or form an "Advanced Course". It is a very basic jet handling course. Why CTC glam it up I do not know. How you can call a pilots very first introdauction to jet ops all done in 20hrs, Advanced, is a joke.
I have no problem with the course I know it is very good and well run just the name is a load of B***S***

It's a good idea to do well on the initial sim assessment (ie practice!!!!!!) before you do the ezy assessment despite their recommendations not to 'practice'.
Avoid the advanced handling course if you can, lots of good pilots in the past have fallen foul of the vagaries of the system, ie dodgy ctc idiots, ignore the other post some of them certainly are idiots.
It seems to be a pension boosting scheme imho, as they charge 23K whether or not you do the AHC.
Good luck, and don't hand in your notice if you have one at your old company before you complete the AHC. Believe me EZY aren't worth it!!!!

I never had to do the AHC (please don´t ask me why!), but I heard it´s mostly ´full procedure´ raw data SIDs, STARs and APPs on the 737 fixed base sim in Southampton. Basically all things that you never do in normal EZY flying!
When I did it...
It was on a fixed base sim. In the type rating course we re-visited this sim and were told it was for procedural training only and should not be hand flown (because it's so crap). You guessed it, you will learn to hand fly a LOFT exercise (mine was LPL GLA) and the last session is a test.
eJ told us it was to transition from TP to jet. When we got to CTC (having quit our old TP jobs) we were told it was a test to see if we were suitable to be moved on to the full type rating course. You should have seen our faces!
You will learn very little about hand flying the 737, but it is a useful way to learn CTC's version of easy SOPs.
Good luck!
