Cargolux? Don't think so, haven't had classics for years.

Hi all,

I wonder if someone can give me some idea of the annual salary for a B747 Flight Engineer these days!
I know that the RPT airlines like Qantas pay a greater salary than the lease airlines like AAI.
Salary for both a line FE and a OFT trainer.

Has anybody access to this sort of info?

Cheers, FD

Try Cathay for the Classic freighters. They always need a few E/O's.

F/E salaries...

Last time I was working with AAI as 747 pilot, the F/Es were paid - if I remember well - 2/3 of the captain's pay... same salary as the F/Os... that would be around US$ 4,500 - 4,700/month bracket... tax free however.

AAI did not pay too well, actually I worked for them as 747 captain in 1993, the pilot pay was exactly the same in 2004, as it was in the past 11 years. Yet I have seen worse in the industry... Also AAI is apparently putting 747 crews on the streets (no surprise) right now - and finally, see what AAI did to me on my last contract with a medical insurance which owes me some US$ 25,000 for a hernia I sustained in training... they claim that they do not owe me anything as I lost my medical (as consequence of the hernia) - and a valid medical is a prerequisite for a contract... must be Icelandic logic...

With such policies I would not recommend AAI... it will cost me a fortune in lawyers to recover what they owe to me... obviously, a medical and accident insurance is meant to help during... medical incapacities - but maybe not in Reikjavik...

Good luck to you...

P.S. see in this forum "Pilot seeking UK lawyer"...
