Spread of EZY 320/737 fleet

All,

Can anyone tell me the geographical breakdown of the EZY fleet please? Am thinking about basing options. I heard it was all 320s bar 737s at LPL. Then again, aren't they expected to move entirely to 320s nationwide soon?

Cheers,

RSE

As at the end of 2006 the only 737 bases left will be LTN, NCL & BFS. Luton is the maintenance base so will be the last to convert.

Everything else A319.

rse,

Are you coming in with a type rating? if so on what? You could get caught out if you join on one fleet, then want a base that operates another. Bristol is converting to the A319 now, the Scottish bases will do so during the Summer, followed by Liverpool, which should be finished at years end.

If you join on the Boeing fleet at LTN, NCL or BFS during this transition, itis then goin to be difficult to transfer to one of the new A319 bases.

I always like to ask this, but for those at Easy who have flown both the 700 and the A319, any preference? Do you find the ergonomics of the A319 (more room up front, etc.) to be less taxing on the multiple sector days?

The Bus is light years ahead of the Supertractor, Beats it hands down in all departments. If you join on the 737 you'd better like LTN, NCL or BFS because that's where you'll be for a LONG time. Its unlikely now that they will see buses at all unless a decision is made to go completely airbus. They've all but stopped people transferring types to move base leaving lot of very unhappy campers about

Re: Spread of EZY 320/737 fleet

wizofoz - i'm still training right now, at least a year shy of flying the heavy stuff, promised to ezy but just wanted a bit of info on basing ahead of the game. I am expecting A319 since the majority of the fleet is going that way and wanted to know if I could rule out ncl (historical connections there).

cheers,
