Flybe Scotland

Would appreciate if anyone has any info about working for Flybe out of EDI/GLA. ie.bonding details, lifestyle-daytrips/nightstops etc.Do they have both turboprop and jet pilots based up north,is there a difference in their roster patterns?
Thinking of applying....any info most welcome.
Cheers..Happy New Year !

3 Dash 8 Q400's based at EDI, GLA has 2, no jets. No nightstops, same routes day in day out, roster is feast or famine - 100hrs/month for a while then next to nothing then back to max. Bonding is £12k reducing over 3 years I believe.
Which seat are you applying for?

Re: Flybe Scotland

Q400 bonding presently £13.5K reducing over 3 years, through a professional loan with Barclays. There is a cheeky option to pay off Barclays early and continue to receive the repayments plus interest from flybe for the remainder of the term.

Good day

Is the info provided by Waveman still correct? Could someone also tell me what routes are served out of GLA & EDI and whether either of these bases would currently be available for a new start (RHS)?

Thanks

Same aircraft, occasional nightstops now & we're in a max hrs per month period at the moment.
Bond changing to £13.5k(?) for 3 years non-reducing.
Routes from GLA are BHX, NWI, SOU, JER (Sat only), BHD & EXT but the last two are done by aircraft from the other end of the route. EDI has all these plus NQY.
GLA has about 7 F/Os leaving in next couple of months.

More on GLA

Hi there,
GLA routes are as waveman says, so get repetitive - at least you get comfortable with the frequencies! There is a nice atmosphere at the base, with only a couple of Captains to be avoided and none who are very likely to get you in the poo! There isn't much of a social life either but GLA itself is a great city.

As for vacancies, the exodus of fo's will need replacing, but I understand that company fo recruitment is complete until Oct - there is no guarantee that you would get the base you want either as that falls at the whim of the management at Ext, although clearly "a big hole needs fillin" and i reckon the management might be keen on people willing to put Scottish bases as first choice.

Keep pluggin, It'll happen!
