How about looking outside of the UK, in a place where older machines like the A300/310 are more likely to be operated? Also, have you called Eagle Aviation in France? They used to operate an A300, and have now switched to A310 (and no, all of their pilots did not speak French). What about Islandflug?

The only UK A300 operators I can find are Monarch (4 x A300-600) and TNT (2 x A300B4). I can't find any A310 operators in UK.

You realistically are not going to get too much in the UK if you are insistent on flying that particular type. Monarch and Channel Express come to mind as the only genuinely UK-based companies who operate them. However, companies such as Ryanair, easyJet and Jet2 (Channel Express in disguise!) would be very interested in someone of your experience to fly their 737-800s or A319s respectively. Have you tried there? Also, with your experience you would be qualified to enter British Airways as a direct entry pilot. Obviously there is a big selection procedure to go through but you are in principal qualified to apply. Best of luck.

Well, then get used to being on unemployment benefits. Or follow Norman Stanley Fletcher's advice and move on to some newer type, with the low costs for example...

All great help, thanx alot.

just to answer one of your questions, i only want to operate in the uk because all my family and friends are here and if possible with this "upside down life style" of a job, i would prefer to be at home. as alot of you may relate.....

thanx again
