Ryanair Selection
Hi everyone
Sorry in advance if I'm in the wrong forum but I'got this selection with Ryanair next week at EMA and I was wondering if anyone can steer me in the right direction on how to prepare.
I am already type rated and experienced on the B737 800 and I am going for this 6 months to Command program.
Has anyone gone through this selection? Any help is highly appreciated

captain Joe
just a word of warning before you go to your interview. You say your experienced on the 800, your sim check will be on the 200 serious so back to the instruments no mcp, efis, fmc ect! be prepared....... flighttime
one question, are you a captain like your user name suggests? if so you should be entering ryanair as a direct entry captain!!! not waiting 6 months

Good advice from flighttime. I did the selection procedure recently and a couple of experienced captains made a balls of it.
They had also been flying the 800. Your scan goes to !!!!.
Unless your well confident, fork out for a session in a 200 sim .

Captain joe smith,
The sim detail is very straight forward and well briefed ,learn the B732 config/epr/att settings! Trim the a/c, lots of ADF tracking, careful use of that big rudder.. during eng shutdown! S/E ILS... ensure smooth transition from instruments to visual. nail rod and avoid GPWS. I found this particular sim quite managable.

Having done the Easy, TFly and Ryan assessments the only one which has any degree of common sense about it is the Ryan day.
Just be yourself: if you screw up, admit it. The guys you are dealing with are pilots, not HR types.

I wouldn't believe that 6 months to command crap. The training department is so backed up that 12 to 18 months is much more likely. I have flown with lots of guys who were told 6 months to command and are still waiting after at least a year. Ryanair will tell you anything to get you in the door.

At least we hope so!
