Talking Jet2 Sim Ride CTC

I've got a sim ride coming up soon at CTC for Jet2. Just looking for some info on what to expect on the day, and any pointers that you might have. Assessment is on the 737-300 fixed base. All help is appreciated.

Unless it has changed, expect to fly a SID from a UK airport, quite often Luton, on raw data. Usually you will do this 3 times with a debrief in between each and they like to see you improve on the debrief points. Quite a fair assessment and not trying to catch you out. There were no system failures or nasties to deal with, just the SIDs and some hand flown manoevres. You will get a good briefing on the detail before you go in the box. Sim could be a -300 or NG depending on availability.

Good luck

Night Freighter Do not go there thinking it is a 73 sim, a very poor excuse for a sim. It flies nothing like a 73 and its fixed. A piece of garbage. If you are a 73 driver it will not help. Just make sure you do some work on windows before you go, it is more like that.

Oh and one more thing learn your Sq root Table one of their party tricks is to ask you the sq root of something while you are doing a hold/app.

This was sometime ago so it might have changed.

All the best

A couple of months ago it was a 73-300 sim at CTC in Southampton although it will be any sim they can get at the time.

They'll send you a briefing sheet with profiles, speeds, power settings etc.

The detail was straightforward, all raw data and manual thrust to confuse the bus drivers.

SID, some general handling, steep turns, accelerating and decelerating in the climb and descent, then a procedural ILS and go-around.

If it is for the LHS there will then be a brief LOFT excercise.
