BAC1-11 Simulator?

EI-SIM at Dublin Airport. Last I heard it was still operating along with the 737-200, but it's been a while since i've checked. It's possibly still owned by Aer Lingus, but companys like PARC and Avtec still use it!

If you can't find the sim then download one of the free BAC 1-11 models from the net for FS2004, sounds cheesy but all the dials and switches are in the right place!
If it is BA you will get a chance to pole it around a bit and play with trimmers and auto pilot before the assesment. No FD or autothrottles and the sim guy will configure the rest of the gumpf for you.

p.s. Have just noted your sig, some of the bus drivers have had snags in the past with a rapid, analog instrument scan. Thing is very pitchy so might need to brush that up a bit.

Agree totally with W2 Plank. BA 1-11 sensitive in pitch, with a very powerful manual trim wheel. It is also bl..dy heavy (but stable thankfully) in roll, with my over-muscled FBW airbus forearms, I was having to use both my hands to roll it out of a turn ! Now the rest of this post presumes you are going for a BA DEP sim check at Cranebank.
Coming from the A320/1, It was a big big change, but use FS2004/ 1-11 Download from http://www.dmflightsim.co.uk/bac_1-11.htm to start getting ahead. Follow the install instructions carefully, may take a little bit of mucking around to get it going, but it is well worth it (and free !) It helped my scan a huge amount. I believe that it is a copy of the FB Light 1-11 that lives at Brooklands these days, and that is well worth going and having a look at.
In terms of actually flying in a sim, use the EAC 727 at Bournemouth, 100GBP/hour fixed base + VAT. You can usually have a look in the 1-11 sim at B/mouth, but it is now U/S, and they will not be fixing it, not worthwhile anymore. Ring them and ask for Mandy, she will sort you out with times etc, book ahead as much as poss. it is v. busy at the mo, wonder why :-))) I and all my mates who have got thru to the sim have gone down and done 2 two hour sessions, and that has prepped us up well for the 1-11. Main thing I reckon is to demonstrate all the qualities they mention in the sim briefing envelope, the flying is important, but safe management of the flight seems to be the number 1 item.
