What was your path

Hi guys and gals, it’s great to see the airline recovering and people getting jobs from varying backgrounds. 5 years ago I made a big decision and changed my career and at 32 am flying a smart turbo for a regional airline. Like many of us I suppose I would like some day to be flying long haul on a 747 or 777 infact the desire is so strong it almost makes me ill!!!!!.

I know some people who have struggled through flight school, swept hangers worked in Ariel photography, flew single pilot IFR delivering mail, paid fortunes for type ratings and finally get their dream job. I also know people who have paid out several big fat cheques to get a head start.

What is it that keeps you going, what are your desires, what do you fly now, how did you gat there and what do you want to fly.

PPL at local airport, approved course in 1997, joined UK regional airline in 1998, 6months turbo prop, couple of years on Regional jet and then joined BA on 757/767 fleet, been there 5 years. No desire to move onto the bigger stuff just yet.

I could tell you how I went from 0 hours to BA 777 in under 5 years but you probably wouldn't believe it.

I sure as hell don't!

BA are contacting people who initially failed their assessments - hope it wasn't anything to do with that mate! hehe
