Ryanair Contract Work - help please!
Greetings to everybody!
Have been a frequent board reader since months, decided now to register as i have an urgent question to experienced Ryanair Folks. Have done a lot of reasearching about Ryan here on the Board and also reading the comments carefully. I have been offered a contract via Brookfield to fly for Ryan. My biggest problem is, that i need a different job quite urgently. There is not much space in my life to decide yes or no.
Is somebody able to shed some light into the details of the contract (First Officer, experienced on Type), what bases can one expect, whats the current pay and so on. I understand that contractors will be paid an hourly wage only. Also there are options of a fixed base with some traveling around various others?
I have read so many things for now that i am quite confused on what to expect. I would really appreciate a honest and down to earth opinion from FR pilots, possibly some already working under contract
.
Please no bashing about Ryan, my last months in aviation have been a scary trip and if they offer me the job, i will take it since it will be better than what i have right now. I am current on the Efis & NG so i guess at least the training costs will be no factor.
Thanks very much for your inputs!

LSD,
and
appear, to me, not to sit too well together in the same post! Aren't the very details you are enquiring about on the piece of paper you're, possibly, about to sign?
OK, sorry, no, I obviously can't answer your question!

Lucy,
Expect no pay during training. How long does training take? Could be anything, but at least 3-4 weeks. If this is the case, you're very lucky. Lack of line trainers could make it take a lot longer. And you'll be UNPAID while you're waiting.
As far as base is concerned, you can give your preference but the decision lies with Ryanair. Don't expect to get what you want, but for most people it works out OK.
Even though you're rated, you could still be bonded (because of the conversion course!!! What airlines do this?) Demand to see the contract before you agree to this job. Once you're past training, the job's OK but there are better ones out there.
Good luck!

Main point to keep in mind that the 90 hours per month is not guaranteed and that is what hurt my take home amount quite a bit! So all the calculations you make based on the hourly fee needs to be done on a minimum and maximum flying basis.

Thanks for your replys so far. So, even if i am rated and current on the NG, i could still be bonded for standardization class - do i get that one right?
What would the average hourly pay for an FO > 1500 hrs with type rating be? Heard that there are variations as well. Anybody able to comment on their most recent contract?
Thanks again!

Don't know what the rates are nowadays but understand that there is a pay your own accomodation part included that will be subtracted if you are at base. I used to get a full rate whereever I was but that was before they opened bases every week.... So when they throw an amount at you make sure you ask for the "empty at base" rate...

So the RYR contract is now with a homebase? Wasn't that different a year ago (I was in contact with Brookfield but turned it down). Do you still have to do standby on other bases?
Why does it say on the homepage that they will open 2 new bases, I only see one (Pisa?). What is the other one?
