Monarch Recruitment

Any news? I heard that there is a hold pool from Jan this year? Is this still around? Do they intend to recruit this year?

Rumblings of a dozen or so in the next month or so. After that who knows but again rumblings of another intake in the winter (50 as a guess).

Monarch is a privately owned company so these things tend to come up at the last minute. They keep their cards very close to their chest.

If I was a betting man I would say at least 50 pilots in the next 6 months. But who really knows..........

Good luck

Rumours are many about if,when and how many !!!!, one thing is for sure if it is like the last phase be ready for a quick process.

I suggest wait till you see it advertised and get in quick, dont sent cv before as i doubt any of the very busy managers will give it time !!

Good luck if it happens.. a great team, and great equipment.

How strict are they about the minimum hours to apply?

If I remember correctly it was about 2500 total time when they last recruited. Did they stick to that or did anyone with less get in?

If you have got a relevant type rating (i.e one on an aircraft that the company operates) i'm sure the chief pilot would be happy to hear from you.

The type rating and in particular the A320 will do it one would think. As for time I think military guys get a break on that one.

Monarch will be recruiting in the future and the people up the top just say watch the web site.

Good luck.

Is there any chance for us guys in the holding pool, or are we left to drown! (4 letters and several phone calls since Jan with little effect so far).

Monarch recruitment

My understanding is that the people who were in the holding pool will be written to in the fullness of time to re-apply as you only stay in it officially for 6 months or so.This means unfortunately going through the interview etc once again. There have been mutterings on more recruitment but no definate figures yet. Monarch is however looking to expand and there are still a few pilots in the hold pools for BA,Virgin and others still awaiting there start dates.
With regards to new entrants, the company will tend to stick fairly rigidly to the 2500hr requirement until they run out of suitably qualified pilots. Offers of fleets are usually dependent on the types flown previously and similarity to Monarch fleets. As is always with recruitment, having someone recommend you is always of benefit.
In my experience, joining the company, I wouldn't say it's no better or worse than any other airline, I have worked for a few!!If you join with the realistic view that being a charter operation(although it is rapidly becoming a scheduled airline) that you won't be able to make that BBQ at the weekend or be in control of your life, as no scheduling agreement exists, then you will enjoy it far more. The company has good aircraft and good crews, use as a stepping stone or as a career it's up to you.

Have been told we are in for a minimum of 18 months and during the interview they did say that there would be no re-interviewing. Oh well, time will tell! Good luck all!

I have been in the pool since January, and I believe a few people have been offered courses within the last week on the Airbus.

Just wondering, do most people who are in the pool offered courses as I believe Monarch have been actively interviewing the last couple of weeks.
