Has anyone any info on the 2nd stage of selection?

I got word that I have passed stage 1 today, but info on stage 2 is scarce.

What do they do to you in the sim? Is it the usual SID, GH & some procedural stuff? Do two candidates fly together, or do you fly with an assessor? I'd be interested to know.

Also, how technical is the interview? What sort of questions do they throw at you? Is it just an informal chat?

Any info would be very much appreciated.

Feel free to PM me if you don't wish to post on here.

stage 2 consists of sim ride, hr "key points " interview and a chat with the psychologist. All the info will be forwarded to you when the dates are arranged.

Sim. 2 britannia pilots one acting as your PNF the other operating the sim. The departure will be demonstrated to you. You get 3 attempts at the departure leading to radar vectors for ILS. Nothing nasty, no single engine. I think I got the chance to get the feel for it, steep turns etc. Fly the numbers for power and pitch and you won't go too far wrong.

No tech questions when I went. Just a nice chat with a captain and an HR bod making notes.

Preparation is a very good idea.

I know of 2 guys who got phoned on a Friday to go to Luton on the Monday or Tuesday and both were working over the weekend. That was the only day they were free on the list (of days) the Hr dep't had.

Calypso - you're quite correct about preparation being the key, but I fear you've missed out one of the Ps - rhymes with MISS and comes before POOR !!!! Rgds, Sid

I did the application form a few weeks back as a 250hr self improver. They sent a later saying no thanks back.

Then they phoned me on Thursday and offered me an interview next Friday, saying the are looking for people who could start at short notice. Talk about making my jaw hit the ground!!

Have started on the stuff on those links above and will of course be reading up on the company etc.

I got a call offering me an assessment next Friday - typically I'm down route so that's a little tricky to pull off.

Nice lady in HR was very understanding so I'm in a pool for next assessments. Thanks to all those above who came up with some encouraging words on preparation and some excellent links.....

Good luck those who are attending!

We'll be after some feedback!

bullseyecontrolla

I think that's how I ended up getting a break. Being available.

Have you already sat the maths and english tests?

Anyway, good luck.

Routemargo,

I think you'd be bloody lucky to get BOH if you did get in anyway. Very popular. Carmen has not been fully implemented so noone really knows the effect it will have. I work FAR less than any of my mates in other companies. My quality of life therefore is..... sorry Barbie's lit and need to get a cold beer.

Moderator,

I sent routemargo a PM today and posted a reply to his/her post on this forum. Why did it disappear, or was deleted?

routemargo: Did you receive a PM from me?

PS: The previous post was page of page 3 of 3 of this thread, as this one is. Why are posts deleted?
