LHR Parking

Hope this is the right forum, but here goes:

I am hoping to live abroad and commute to LHR for my flights. My cunning plan was to leave my car at the staff car park so that I have a car if I have to come in the night before for instance (always nice to have transport).

Now I found out that the carpark people do not approve of this practice. You can only stay for so long before they (allegedly) clamp your car. Has anybody got experience with this same problem? Do they indeed clamp or is it an idle threat? Are there perhaps alternatives regarding parking my car near Heathrow?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Idle threat......

Assuming you're using the Parking Express entrance and Staff exit, just park in the Public area and exit via the staff exit.
