Thumbs down Be aware of a pilot agency

I have heard a lot a bout an agency based in the southern hemisphere their name starts with the letter "I" for international
as their contract differs a great deal from other agencies where
pilots are more slaves than proffesionals to them. They pay 5%
less and they want you to continue with them or else! Their legal
team is based in an Island in the middle of no where where your
legal rights are not secured.
Just a word of caution to examine their contract very carefully
and read the fine fonts. Their support in time of need is big zero

Happy landings

From the geographical description, are you talking about IAC ? (www.iacglobal.com )

If so, VANUATU is the pacific state whose "legal system" this company chooses to use in it's contracts with pilots. This island state is also well recognised as a sinkhole for world wide money laundering operations and questionable banking activities.

The lack of recourse to a legitimate legal framework should ring ALARM BELLS in anyone's mind.

Please think very seriously before you sign on the dotted line with any company (such as IAC) whose contracts may contain references to "off shore" resolution mechanisms.

Wink

Thanks Eurydice, I just wanted to alert pilots of what is hidden
in certain contracts with certain agencies and not to suffer at a
later stage. Agencies who practice that kind of unfair treatment
need to be known to all pilots. May be and it is only a hope that
that kind of agencies be a bit more fair in treating their pilots and
let the pilot's body know about them and think twice before com-
miting to a contract.

can you explain it better ?

Hello,

could you please explain what new pilots should be aware of, when dealing with agencies ?

I have not clear what you are saying in this thread.

What specifically do I have to whatch out in the contract ?

What additional clauses should I request to add in that ?

Thank you,
Pete.

To N2334M

Hi N2334M,

The thing to watch for is that after a pilot finishe's his contract
for the period say 5 years, he or she is not allowed to work for
the same company he was assigned for unless he/she renew
the contract with the same agent if he wants to continue working
for the same airline otherwise he is banned for a period of one year before employment with the same airline but with a different
agent! Yet this agent pay between 5 to 7% less than any other
agent and they don't shy from threating their pilots with all sort
of bullying tactics. I hope that I have answered your question
