Thomas Cook?

Hi Everyone
I've been trying to find out some information about life in Thomas Cook on the Airbus fleet. Any answers to the following would be appreciated.
What bases do they have?
What is the winter schedule like compared to the summer?
How many days off/month?(in blocks of 2 or 3?)
Are you rostered from lates to earlies between days off?
Roster disruption?

Many Thanks

OK, I left a while ago but at that time:

What bases do they have?
A320 at MAN, EMA, STN, LGW A330 at MAN, LGW

What is the winter schedule like compared to the summer?
On the A320 winter is almost 6 months off, summer is 12 months rolled into 6

How many days off/month?(in blocks of 2 or 3?)
As few as the agreements allow usually blocks of 2

Are you rostered from lates to earlies between days off?
Used not to but it became de rigeur

Roster disruption?
More than you can imagine!

It's far from being a bad outfit but it has become just a stepping stone to better things with all the BA/VS recruitment going on. Just my humble opinion.

Hi Virginia Plane

Thanks for the reply, I was wondering was there any working agreement where u operate on your last day of your duty week on an early and start back after your days off on a late report? any info would be appreciated. How did you enjoy TC during your time there?
Many Thanks

While the union is fairly strong, and in my opinion slowly getting stronger there is no agreement for that.

What you would normally get is a night flight into rest day before days off (so arguably an early as a rest day is not a day off). You are ensured at least 2 of your DO blocks do not have a start after 8am although they try to keep the earlies after DO's as low as poss.

Union agreement is for max 800hrs. If you are offered A320 then expect eventually to be CCQ with the A330, this is however very unpopular with the troops because of the way rostering roster the two together !

VP has it spot on there. A good company, good, friendly management (in the most), but not the best outfit around and now a very long time to command.
