Deutsche BA
Just wondering if anybody knows anything about how Deutsche BA are going? IMy boyfriend is a 737 FO with them.
I know their financial position is not that good....does anybody have any recent news on their position?

Well, their financial position has been precarious since day one! They're a relatively small airline flying on highly competitive, mainly domestic, routes. And with Germany announcing record unemployment and a recession, I guess things must be tough. However, on the bright side, they've survived a great deal longer than ever expected. Fickle business the airline business. You can never make predictions.

They are doing very well lately.
Since they went away from BA much has gotten better.
Employees even get their normal salary again, not that reduced one during the crisis.
Planes are always full on the good routes. Loadfactor of 85% is normal.
No need to really worry.
Bye

Are BA still subsidising the operation? I seem to remember they (BA) were paying Ģ25m per year for the first three years of independant operation. That will have helped........!

Yeah, but now they are turning better.
Since months they introduce new (2nd Hand) 737s and plan to order either 24 737NG or 32X.
They plan to increase Network and now, after BA left they seem to have a competitive strategy they can fill up planes all day and get at least the BE-Point in that.
In former times this wasn't the case

Bit unfair all, considering NB FOs in other airlines are also treated like mushrooms (fed sh!t, kept in dark) so she's obv looking out for him. Well done I say!

Hi Rampi,
are you sure dba pilots get their previous salary again.
A very good mate of mine is flying there and he recently told me they have still a 25% cut.
But I still think itīs a good company flying for

I don't know, how GBA is going, but what I can tell you, is that they are in the "procedure", of buying OLYMPIC AIRLINES, these days.
If you have any info, let us know, just to check, with whom we are dealling!!!
