emirates schedule

Hi all,

I have some questions for the pilots. Having read the group website and the message boards, I am still left wondering several things. What is the monthly schedule like for F/Os and what are the average days off? This is a big one: what is the housing like for a family (teenagers); how are the wives adjusting; and how long does it take to get the kids enrolled in an American school? Also can they attend the American University with little hassle there?

12 - 18 days of work depending on fleet, right now the345 has the best (least work days) or lots of O/T

Housing is generally good, West side of the bridge is better, Ithink most of the new people right now are in Al Bada, which seems to be nice.

ASD and DAA schools are full, there may be room in DAA next year as they are building a new primary school making the High School that much bigger.

AUD ,not sure about but Ithink it costs about 40000/ sem

Most wives like it here, you will hear from the negitive more than the positive.

All the talk about mass numbers leaving is not happening, don't think it will, great if it does.

More pay would be nice, Airbus fleet seems to be stabilizing just in time for the boeing to get going. Upgrades are a big ? these days 3-4 maybe 5-7 years how knows.

Never ask the obvious, but are you talking about 12-18 days off at the home base?

I have 8-10 days off a month in dubai. As per the contract I signed. Nothing out of the ordinary here. What Fatbus maybe didnt, in all fairness, tell you was that he might be on the A340-500 and for this specific month, he might only have flown to New Zeeland and JFK. That is great, but not representative of the average roster, so dont base your plans on that.

G'day
