Hmmm...

If BA continue to 'cut 1000's of flights', the need for recruiting may go away...permanently.

I think you'll find that the 1000's of flights are over about 4 months, ie about 250/month or about 4 return flights per day (mulitplied by the very few number of '000s of flights).
