Paid annual leave...?

Are there any restrictions in the UK (or in the EU) as to how little paid annual leave your employer has to provide if you're on a long-term contract (not permanently employed)? Where can I find this information?

Happy landings...

No legal minimum in the UK - depends entirely on your contract at the start of employment. Check before you sign! Anything less than 4 weeks (20 working days) is pretty mean. Most UK airlines seem to offer 25-35 days, increasing with length of employment. Smaller outfits less generous, probably down to zero for a small flying school.

I thought the law had changed and we now came under the EU regs which I think was 3 weeks per year, even for contract workers.

This an issue that I have looked into recently and can be found on the dti website. You are entitled to 20 days paid leave per year paid public holidays are at your employers discretion. Also if you are a contractor you are entitled to the same holiday benefits of permanent workers,in my case(I am a contractor)I am entitled to 28 days +public hols.
See www.dti.gov.uk you might have to trawl a bit but you will find it.
