Gulf Air B767 F/O recruitment
Hello to you all,
Im expecting an interview date soon and was just interested to see if anyone can shed any light on myself on the current recruitment and interview process for Gulf Air, on the B767's as a F/O.
Also would like to know about the cost of living (rent, food..etc..) to have a rough idea on what to expect. Is Bahrain city similar to Dubai's living standard???
Would much appreciate it if any one could help out or direct me to another existing posting.
Thankyou.

I've spent 14 months out of the last 24 in Bahrain; the standard of living is similar to Dubai although I can't comment on the cost in Dubai. Bahrain is a small place and has very few amenities, albeit when they finish building the place it may be better....... If you have children, I would not recommend Bahrain as there is even less for children than there is for adults. Apartments in Manama are expensive, 1000BD=£1500/ per month, and further out of town villas range from 800BD to whatever you want to pay. Shopping facilities are good in Manama itself, but prices for western style goods are UK + 30%. It all depends what you want, but I found the place somewhat claustophobic.
Dubai on the other hand is far more modern and there is a great deal more to do by way of leisure activity for families. UAE is the main hub in the region, so getting around is also easier from there. The security situation in the UAE is slightly better than Bahrain, although neither is without it's difficulties......
Hope that's some use - If you want more please PM me and I will endeavour to answer your questions or try and point you at someone who can.

Bahrain cheaper to live in for sure 12 yrs there never spent more than 700bd per month for a nice villa on a compound with all the amenities not as cosmopolitan as Dubai but certainly cheaper to live
