No, but there was this other outfit called Wizzair lately. When I got in touch via email, they were totally reluctant to give me any hint of the payscales they were offering (or not).
That part of the world is still very weird.

Sky Europe seem to be one of the better organised of the Eastern European startups. They had 2 737s and 5 Brasilias in the fleet last winter, based at Budapest in Hungary and Bratislava in Slovakia. Now they're going to build a base at Warsaw. You often see two of their 737s together at Stansted in the morning.

There must be someone from Ryanair on the team as they describe Bratislava as "Vienna Bratislava" - I don't think even M. O'L. goes as far as naming his airports after capitals of different countries to the one they are in !

Looks like their staff party in Barcelona was a blast though !

CEO Christian Mandl used to work for CityBirdy they say, so that may be a source for information as well. Apart from various EE LCC they are fully western-owned and NOT scary. It seems to be a serious business.

Bratislava and Vienna are so close apart that the naming is creative, nothing more. It is no worse than Charleroi, Stansted or Luton.

But ask M.85, he's with them recently and unlike my friends (Slovaks, Czechs) will be able to provide expats view.

Sent them a request for info's after having read their ad in F.I.; got an authomated reply without any info on what i was asking (payscales, rosters etc.).
Being it Slovakia,Hungary or poland don't think they have attractive conditions (apart from the women...).
But if any of you has any infos...let us know.

moderators:

For the comfort of readers (not to relieve PPRuNe as is the common case, yet) would you gals&guys care to merge the two or three running SkyEurope threads to one, perhaps?

---

tarjet fixated: For future use, would you kindly add Czech R. to the list as well...

cheers mate,

FD.

Edited for, er, ... you know what. Bloody hell.

Tarjet,

With all due respect if you contact an airline and ask them about their payscale and roster only..what do you think they ll think about you..you are looking for money and not to work too much..
Try again and tell them you want to work!!

For all the others who call in the office to see if we recieved your cv..dont do it..what they do is they find out your name..look for your cv and trash it into the bin..believe me i know..

Just be patient and professional.

Regards,

M.85

I have just recently returned from Bratislava. Absolutely beautiful city and surrounding countyside. Excellent food, clean. Friendly people. There seems to be a big push to get more Westernized. I would never shy away from flying there.

Can anyone give me an idea how much a good apartment costs locally.

Does the 1/4 rule apply as mentioned above.

Little Friend:

I don't really think a foreigner is permitted to own property in Slovakia, at least that's how it is here. The prices in pricey Bratislava for a 2 room flat w/kitchen should be between 1.5 to 3.0M SKK for sale, depending on various variables .

But to get some perspective, I'm sure you have internet access do you not? Link to a randomly found rent offer, please delete if found inappropriate.

FD.
