Air Universal

I heard this company based in AMMAN do not pay the salaries or with 2 to 3 months delay. During the Hadj they were taking off with 10 to15 tons overweight and they asking their crew to be between 24 and 36 hours on duty. Could somebody confirm

Is this where 411A flies? My favourite PPruner. Say it isn't so.

Oddly enough, punkalouver, indeed it is altho I am on leave at the moment.
Hmmm, as for salaries, mine was never late, always to the correct dollar, and so was everyone else that I knew....except for a couple of folks who insisted to be paid in advance (and were) then 'disappeared'.
So, you indeed might expect sour grapes from these few, now that the Cyprus AOC is close to issue, more airplanes on the way, a proposed marketing agreement with folks from the original Laker group who can bring a lot of new business to the table... these few folks it appears have right and truly burned their bridges behind.

Rather shortsided for these few, to say the least.
Overweight?
I certainly didn't, nor anyone else I know.
Long duty hours, well yes, but all within the present AOC, so far as I know.
36 hours?
Hardly.

An overtime structure was introduced toward the middle of last year, and the FD crew salaries paid can be quite good, altho they, like many other carriers in the middle east, expect that you be available for duty, when called.
Like everywhere else.\
A white glove operation they are not.

Perhaps some with the complaints just didn't fit in?
It wouldn't be the first time, just as in many other companies.

Been parked here for quite a few weeks.

It was damaged at the lower galley door by a hi-lift catering truck and is awaiting repairs.

One B747-200B aircraft was registered in Cyprus on 2nd Feb 2006. AOC has not yet been acquired. Air Universal now has 5 Jumbos in its fleet.

Perhaps going off on one but........

If they then get the Tri-stars on a European AOC I presume they can fly charters into the states ???

I must let FlyWho know, now they were looking for a Tristar!

Air Universal does not plan to put their L1011 on the Cyprus register. They will continue to operate on the Sierra Leone AOC and concentrate on African charters.

Have a present contract, Locust, and operate when needed, which has worked out to about seven-eight months per year....an ideal situation from my perspective.
Always paid on time as well, and certainly expect this to continue.
AU has quite a bright future, if managed properly.

If all goes according to plan, Locust, north and south America to Europe, sub-service and charter.
Time will tell.

Now you know why 411A is on leave, they only have one Tristar! No plane, no fly!

Wow two whole airplanes, what the junk yard had a sale? One broke, one flying very impressive! Better keep an eye on those catering trucks otherwise you might be out of business!
What a joke!

Oh, I dunno, CMF, the other five 747's seem to take up the slack quite nicely...

Gee 411A then why are you sitting home in Arizona? Obviously you can't fly 747's. Gee what a surprise.

Not in the least PIA. And yes, kite, 747, 767, 777 and C5 and not for some POS hole like Air Universal.

I think we can read CFM's 'not in the least' comment to indicate that he is stuck in the RHS in a large company, with long prospects for command, if at all.
One must ask, if this were not the case, why would he even be replying to posts about a small (but profitable) mid-east charter carrier?
Or, he might well have been rejected for employment, as that would explain his extreme negative attitude.

OTOH, in CFM's case, 'kite' may well be closer to the truth...
