........and why would Paul Stoddard want to see his time, effort, money and good will wasted! EAC has a whole lot of potential and it will take time.
Most of those who work for EAC are a good bunch of people (ground based personnel in BOH, LGW and MAN, Flight crew and Cabin Crew).
But there are a few bad apples in the barrel, too many "Empire Builders" who don't see the bigger picture and don't treat those at the coal face at all well.
It would be nice if there could some form of "stable" flying programme. But as with all charter airlines this is difficult.
Good Luck at all at EAC and welcome home all those who were in KUL.

well good to see the appalling comments have stopped! why dont you say how you really feel cat!. although putting down 300+ pilots and engineers with one statement may be a little uncalled for.

Working here at LGW have just received a phone call telling me not to loan anything or do any work for European as they had just gone bust.

I'm told that all aircraft at LGW were impounded for a period this morning by the airport authority but have subsequently been released following payment of half of what European owe to BAA. Check-in on the Sanford was suspended for a short while under instructions from the airport because of the aircraft seizure. It was resumed when the payment was forthcoming and flight departed as normal. Looks like a short-term issue with the airport rather than anything more fundamental affecting its operations across the board and aircraft at LGW are (now) free to operate.

Actually it is a way to run a business and a tactic many companies large and small use....i have worked with and for some very large companies and they were awful payers.

Wouldn't jump to conclusions about BAA's actions silverhawk...
EAAC have definately been in trouble today at LGW, but they seem to be making amends already (not in the most workforce-friendly way though).
They are currently working on a plan to cut staff numbers from their current 900-strong workforce to get themselves back on track. Its all to do with a long drawn out buying procedure by their potential new owners.

An interesting twist.
Air Atlanta Europe has now applied for slots at Gatwick and Manchester for every single Sanford and Las Vegas flight operated by EAC with effect from the beginning of April:
e.g.
European operates EAF122 departure at 1100 to Sanford on Saturdays.
Air Atlanta Europe applies for EUK122 departure at 1100 to Sanford on Saturdays.
Air Atlanta Europe is obviously taking the view that the problems at EAC are more fundamental.

I suppose one could and I would especially appreciate that such suspicions may arise if your livelihood depended on European's survival. If this is indeed the case, then I understand the situation and the reason for your query.
I would ask, however, if you prefer that such information was not circulated here? For the record, I am not an AA employee, have no connection whatsoever with it and moreover don't want one.
If AA are taking actions that could be seen as prejudicial to European's position then that surely is a matter between AA and European. It is one hell of a leap to assume that, simply because I am aware of such actions, I must be an AA employee! I've absolutely nothing to gain from this either way. Just don't shoot the messenger if you don't like the fact that AA are being openly hostile to European. I understand that times may be challenging, but would suggest that you take aim at whoever is taking those hostile decisions instead.

rather than AA being predatory, I'd say its more likely the tour operator has had enough of pouring his own money into this airline and has taken his business elsewhere. The fact that the loss of one tour operator customer means possible doom for the airline shows just how precarious their situation is.

Well it would be a huge pity if there's any truth in the matter. There are some really fantastic people working for European, and I'd hate to think that they might be out of work soon.

I Can think of the odd fat lady at European but doubt if they can sing. Apparently only 2 A/c at FZO now. XG is on its way back to Man to operate the SFB tomorrow.
I'm sure things aren't so goodbut at the same time not bad. as is being made out on here. (Hopefully).
It would be really nice if European would at least make some sort of statement to their Crews who are constantly hearing rumours.
