Hey All:

I have my app in at CAL. Before I commit to anything I was hoping to find out about life in Taipai. Are there schools I can get my sons into? And what is living like there for families? Any information I can get would be appreciated.

Are there schools I can get my sons into?

= Yes, try the Taipei American School website for info, www.tas.edu.tw It is located in the upscale neighborhood of Tien Mu on the north side of the city near Yangmingshan. Coincidentally that is where most of the westerners with families live.

And what is living like there for families?

= Very difficult for a wife unless she is very outgoing and has a great sense of adventure. Okay for kids, but not a lot of free space to play outdoors. Even Tien Mu is something of a concrete jungle. It's nice to escape to the edges of the city and find the old Japanese built hiking trails to get some exercise.
