Hajj Dec 2003

Anybody here flying the Hajj this month. I was contacted by Direct personnel for an Air Atlanta contract... $250/day. Definately a NO!

Risking your life?
How much is that worth?
Surely more than this pay?

In past years they based their crews in Jeddah, not going to give you the name of the compound, but i will add that security around that compound has increased dramatically in the last month.

Mutt, I agree you cannot give the name of any compound where western crews could be staying not only in saudi but anywhere.
Especially to anyone with the log in name of PIA747.

Yes, PIA747 has been asking a lot of questions about Hajj, which is fine, but this is a sensitive area and nothing should be disclosed.

Agree with you ijp

As if any unsuspecting terrorist does not know where non Saudi crews stay in Jeddah during the Hajj period. Not that many good hotels to stay at any way.

Some crews even stay in the same Hotel as the PIA crews

The login PIA747 scares you? Just wondering what an Ariana747 would do to you.
Haha its funny how paranoid you people are. The Air Atlanta compound in Jeddah is no secret, it is infact mentioned on their website.

Its actually kind of sad too,how easily some people associate a large group of peace loveing people to a few wrong individuals. I suppose its the media at fault!

PIA747! Are you for real???? $250/day sounds ****** great to an F/O....... Assume you still have a silver spoon in your tea......the rest of the world awaits, while you change your attitude. .....as IF!!!!

Get a grip, If you don't want to work, then tell everyone you would deign to work for, before you sign the contract......please??? It would help open left seats for those of us who want to work!

IJP, remember the rumour about KAC giving 9K-ADB and ADD to the Taliban???? Don't be such a ******* and believe that al qaida doesn't need verification! Recce comes in all forms, mate! You should know better..... remember USN gunnery school?

I, for one, sincerely hope that we don't see any "green-on green" ----al qaida v. arab/ hadji this year!!! that's the last thing we need to see........but would be good in that it would show these ********* for what they really are, murderers!

Paladini:

Seems like you are new into the contract flying scene. The $250/day is for Captains.

You will probably Kill for that kind of $$

Only seven years on the scene, mate. Am very familiar with the scales. Re-read the post and retire! Please!

The $250/day for "some" of the guys we have to put up with is well over-paid ! Are you one of those? Likely!

I agree with EZ and PIA about paladini....
Doing the Haj and on top of our basic we get an extra 100 USD per day plus bonus, plus sector pay plus. So all taken into account that s over 300 USD a day.... for an FO.

Never been fed with a silver spoon but it sure makes the Haj taste rather good... Perhaps you should try Paladini. That could take that bitterness away from you .
