Any info on the Etihad package
Hi,
Etihad have two A330's and are planning 16 by the end of 2004 according to the rumours. Anybody out there can supply info on the package for Capts/FOs. Rumours abound about a package FAR better than EK up the road but would like to see numbers to back that up. In return can offer comparison with current EK package.

I can only offer the rumour floating around DXB.
Capts - 25% more than EK, circa 30,000 dirhams/month.
Accomodation allowance - 160,000 per annum. (EK f/o 85,000 capt 95,000)!
Possibility of European basings.
Cheers.

Not related but general info;
15th November 2003
Abu Dhabi-based Etihad Airways is to launch its first flight on Wednesday, positioning itself as a luxury airline despite a global industry decline. Etihad, owned by the government of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), is starting with a fleet of two leased Airbus A330-200s and plans to acquire up to eight more Airbus aircraft to fly to 16 destinations by next year. The airline, with a capital of 500 million dirhams (USD$136.2 million), will invest one billion dirhams over the next five years and will operate on a commercial basis, officials said. Frills and superior service offered by the airline include an in-flight kitchen to prepare meals served on fine cutlery and a high ratio of flight attendants per passenger. Etihad is the fourth airline in the UAE, joining the ranks of regional carrier Gulf Air -- in which Abu Dhabi's government has a stake -- Dubai-owned Emirates, and newly launched budget carrier Air Arabia.

Sadly Not The Case
Hi All,
Further to my last, Etihad offering approx 25-30% LESS than EK on overall package at this stage. E.g. Capt on A330 EK 28k per month whilst at Etihad 22k approx (in AED 1USD=3.68 AED). Bad news for all those commuters in a city to the north hoping for a more competitive package without having their rosters 'optimised' from Jan 1 2004 . Is it true it's called AdOpt because like all b**tards it doesn't have any real father??
