cargolux f/o recruitment?????
cargolux take a new 744-F early next year.
when are they doing any new intake for f/o's ?
or
is there a 'hold pool' of ready to go pilots selected and waiting start dates ?

with so many pilots out there with big jet hours such as
x swiss, x sabena etc etc, what sort of hours and type ratings are they looking for. does it have to be wide body or previous command time etc ?
ive heard time to command is about 8 years , is this accurate?
are there more airplanes on order or has expansion slowed to a crawl?
any more useful info would be appreciated.
dont seem to be many cx guys on pprune?

Cargolux F/O recruiting via PARC group
looks like you may get a shot at cargolux if you have a -744 rating in your pocket capt2ezy.
cant see where too many f/o's will want to do only one year with no career prospects? unless of cours they take them on full time afterwards?seems easy way to cut training time and cut costs too i suppose.
good luck.

when you start right now, you will have about 170 FO´s in front of you, many young cpts, this year we had about 8 (!) upgrades...
I do not know when recruitment is picking up again, but why
not go ahead and call the office in lux? (ask for flori speicher)
background of the average new FO is quite different, we had guys with prop time only up to widebody cpts, at the moment probably better chances with jet time...
good luck, but beware: your wish could be fullfilled...

ref cargolux recruitment
the next delivery aircraft delivery is april 2004 and if you look at the web site www.cargolux.com and then under SITE MAP you will find the forms and profile of the pilot qualifications that cv look for
below is the summary published
Other Requirements
- Total of 2500 hours flight time including 1000 hours on jet aircraft (weighing more than 50.000 kg)
- Or total of 3000 hours flight time including 2000 hours on modern turboprop (or jet weighing above 22.000 kg)
- Full European ATPL license acceptable to Cargolux with MCC training
- Valid medical certificate
the requirement to domicile locally is not as stringent as it used to be
As previous posters have mentioned..write and see.. i would in the first case apply to human resources- and mark the application pilot recruitment-always a good idea to fill out the application form as well (down load from the website) otherwise your first reply will be-an application form!
good luck to anyone, its a very family type of airline although the number of aircrew has risen significantly over recent years and some of the faces i dont recognise after 25+ years
the multi national culture is interesting aswell ..
good luck

the rosters are produced via aims,a new PBS is also avail
not fully conversant but each roster has a secure block of 6 days off plus 3 floating-produced on a 28 day period- operated under the lux civil aviation regulations based on the jar ops with side agreements in place with pilots delgations-
trip time on pairings between 8-10 days
contract pilots have 8 days secure
for the rest use the contacts on the web site or speak with crews who operate thru your airports

Hi
I think Cargolux has already made a big selection process recently and now they have a waiting list, some guys have still to wait for more than a few month, they have also reached an agreement with luxair, stating that pilots from luxair can (if they want and passed the selection) continue their career at Cargolux (that was not permĦtted by the past), that is nice because some pilots at luxair would continue their carrer on long haul flight.

Sounds like the schedule at Cargolux does not really allow for a real "life" with very few days off and a tiring schedule of international flying. Why would a Luxair pilot choose to fly this type of schedule - is the pay that much better? Sure, you get to fly a gee-whiz 747-400 to some very interesting places, but wouldn't that get old after a while?
Beyond the fact that there are so few jobs (especially wide-body) in Europe, why else would you choose to fly for Cargolux given the lifestyle implications?
