ATPL Flight Planning vs. Reality
To those jet jockeys...
I am inbound and am requested by ATC to hold at a position before my TOD. On completion of holding do I accelerate from holding speed to original cruise speed, or maintain Vimd, or Long Range Cruise? What do you really do in that situation? Thanks |
Original cruise speed (Probably 'econ') unless instructed otherwise by ATC, and if in doubt then ask.

AIP Australia ENR 1.1-20
10.5 When leaving an en route holding pattern, jet aircraft must maintain 250KT, unless otherwise advised by ATC. Don't know if this is common or not. :) ------------------ I am not an animal, I am an ATC. |
Accelerate to the "red bricks" to make up the time you just lost holding.
If they don't like it they'll tell you! ------------------ hhhiiisssssccrrrraaaacckkkllesssshhhhhh |
