A32F ELAC issues

Hello,

Anyone has heard about ELAC issues on A32F type that needs an important update ASAP?

Just came now from the company, some aircrafts affected. Should not take more than 24hr for everything to be fully updated but still expecting some delays/cancellations.

This is probably the same as Qantas 72 (2008). BIT FLIP phenomenon. My hunch is the batch of ELAC chips are affected, who knows a software update might not do the correction required?

For Qantas 72, the bit flip occurred in the ADIRU, not the flight control computers. That combined with a bug in the PRIM air data logic allowed the master PRIM to accept data from the single faulty ADIRU even though it disagreed with the other 2. The bug was introduced when Airbus implemented a quick and dirty fix to address AoA discrepancies at large sideslip angles. The report specifically notes that the A320 never exhibited those issues.
