Asia SID procedures

Evening,

has anyone a clue why almost each big airport in ASIA has such complex departure procedures?
F.e Bangkok, RWY19L. After departure you have to hold at 5000, then at 6000, then to cross between 9000ft and F160.

What sense is behind that?

This is normally done to provide vertical separation whenever STARs and SIDs overlap in (busy) airspace.

We have plently of such restrictions in the TMA I currently operate to/from

correct, have a look how the SIDs and STARs overlap and you'll see why. ( nothing unusual in that )

BKK gets a bit busy sometimes. We have had a few close shaves just east of the field.

Keep your eyes open :ok:
