min spd of 737

HI ! cld anyone tell me the min spd u cld slow down to , at say FL300 on a 737.... Vref 40 +70 or the upper end of the amber arc showing min manvr spd??? Thanx!!

the yellow min manoeuvre lines on the speed tape are just that for whatever configuration you are in. On a classic 400 in cruise at or near optimum levels for weight, that yellow line indicates min drag or holding speed I think and is the engine out drift down speed. If you are flying an 800 at optimum levels then add 15 knots to the yellow line to find min drag drift down or holding speeds. Airmanship consids, why fly at a speed below min drag in cruise? take a hold or vectors to lose time is better option

Gday,

Above F250, Vref 40+100 is the go.

If you need to go any slower, then the top of the yellow band gives you 1.3g, but who really wants to go that slow??

Cheers,

but who really wants to go that slow??

perhaps someone looking for a demo of the low and high speed buffet onset graph. :E I feel a trip to coffin corner coming on.

Why don't you try it?

With Flap 25, say, and loads of thrust, you'll be able to go really slowly!

:D :D :D :D

tried it in the sim ,on the 700Ng - flaps 30,gear down, full thrust ,bellow FL100- level flight at 80kt..:hmm: ....stickshaker,redbars....and we didn't stall it:E...and if you add also the wind ,I think we managed a GS around 40kt ,so we won't get a fine from the police radar.

I'll remember that next time i find myself on a missed app at LGW.....and end up over Manor Royal :E !

Gday,

'Tis considered poor form to commence descent unplanned from F410 with the stick shaker rattling away:eek:

good planning though from FL:410. checks out the stick shaker. if it does not work. put it in the tech log. if you go tumbling out of control. put in an ASR as well

Myrostersucks,
The min clean speed is always V ref 40+70 for the NG, as long as you fly above the amber arc. Below FL 200 this is displayed, while above that it requires a trip to the approach ref page of the FMC. As per the FCTM, fly at least 10 kts above the amber arc when in hdg sel. The figure of Vref 40+100 above FL 250 is only for holding when more accurate speeds are not available from the FMC/QRH.
Cheers

Thanx all for ur answers!! Arrow 1 I agree with Vref 40+70 spd but cld it be above the amber arc beginning in which case u'd be below that min spd....also where in the FCTM does it say about Hdg Sel mode ( + 10 Kts) Thanx again!!
