In the days when 252 was a music station I once listened to it on the way into Dakar. Sounded great too, weird things skywaves.

Felix Saddler 4th February 2007 12:54

How is this done?

PGA 4th February 2007 15:15

675 - Arrow Classic Rock, Brilliant!
198 - News Radio / Live broadcasting bigger sport matches
891 - Radio 538
1215 - Virgin Radio
648 - BBC World Service

Now if you look at these frequencies, you`ll find that all of them add up to either 9 or 18. For instance 6+7+5 = 18 or 1+2+1+5 = 9 If you`re stuck in a part of the world where you don`t know any frequencies try that little formula and you`ll soon find something to listen to :ok:

flyby797 10th February 2007 16:12

You also have 765 , a swiss radio, lot's of music

Boeing Pilot 10th February 2007 18:09

Remember, All the frequencys you can listen to have to be able to divide with 9.

captjns 10th February 2007 21:15

the divisor by 9 rule does not apply in the US. 660, 710, 560, etc.

StraightLevel 11th February 2007 13:25

hi guys,

why do all the frequencies have to divide by 9?

llondel 11th February 2007 16:55

Different frequency plans in different parts of the globe, Europe adopted a 9kHz channel spacing for AM broadcast, the US uses a 10kHz spacing. That's why the BBC long wave transmitter moved from 200kHz to 198kHz many years ago.
