B757 vs. B767
 

Hi everybody,

Is really the 757 qualification the same as the 767?

Except for the diferences in weight and thrust, endurance, etc.,

special flight training simulator program is required ??

Yes - same qualification.

You get both on your JAA licence, but LPC's are type-specific. Once you have done the differences course, your operator can carry out alternate sim checks and you can maintain both types in currency.

the only thing different on the flight deck is either the the overhead airconditioning control panel/ or pneumatics distribution panel - systemswise the 767 has a PTU for the stabilizer & an airdriven demand pump ..

When you go through the flight deck door you have to step UP on a 767 and DOWN on a 757! Spooky..............:ok:

and most importantly the 767 has about 2' extra height between your butt and the wheels. Important to remember when trying to do smoochy landings :O

thats correct - you step up for the 767 & step down in the 757 & in the 747 - you really step up & they even give you a "bump" on the cockpit for head clearance so you can sit on your wallet - it was something that ALPA negotiated - has its roots in elitism that comes from gross weight .. :E

Think the -300ER also has a Ram Air Turbine?

they all have ram air turbines ..the 757 are compression spring deployable & the 76's are hydraulically deployable & stowable .. and yes they have been proven to work ..

Common type rating yes, substantial differences yes, difficult to fly together no, after some experience.

What about the 767-400, now that aircraft has a 777 style flightdeck, can you fly it in tandem with the 757? Probably just a differences course to fly with the standard 767.
