Double Elac fault.
An Airbus in Mexico recently experienced a double Elac fault in flight. What might have caused this?
Incident: Volaris A321 at Mexico City on Aug 2nd 2015, both ELACs failed |
Dispatch with ELAC1 inop then subsequent failure of ELAC2 perhaps.
|
The probability of both failing must be incredibly rare though.
|
Not as incredible as clean tap water in Mexico City.
|
You cannot dispatch with ELAC1 fault, cause it's NO-GO

You cannot dispatch with ELAC1 fault, cause it's NO-GO ELAC2 is a MMEL NO-GO |
I'm with Gryphon...

The aircraft involved was almost brand new, so I wonder what caused both elacs to fail?
|
Bad luck rears its ugly head again.
