Double Elac fault.

An Airbus in Mexico recently experienced a double Elac fault in flight. What might have caused this?
Incident: Volaris A321 at Mexico City on Aug 2nd 2015, both ELACs failed

Dispatch with ELAC1 inop then subsequent failure of ELAC2 perhaps.

The probability of both failing must be incredibly rare though.

Maybe in your company MEL, not in MMEL and many others MEL,s.

ELAC2 is a MMEL NO-GO
