A320 Final Approach mode to LNAV minima

I saw this in the FCOM recently.... I didn't realize that the A320 can fly fully managed (FINAL APP) to LNAV minima? I thought it must be done in NAV / FPA.

Can someone shed some light here...

Thank you !

Not just that but on our 330's any time you fly down to an LNAV/VNAV minima or a DA you MUST use Final Approach mode. :ok:

Check that your airline is approved to fly managed NPAs. Approval may be needed from the local authority, approaches may need to be validated and you may require sim training.

If it was simple and straight forward it wouldn't be aviation.

On our 330 if the MAPT is located before the threshold you can only use selected for the vertical profile. Else fully managed.

Yeah, watch out for all the glitches, OEBs, specificities and such.

You can use managed-managed to perform an NDB approach (LNAV minima), if you like and you meet all those restrictions. But you have to x check with raw data. Similarly, you can shoot an RNAV to LNAV minima with FINAL APP (for instance if your company does not allow to shoot the same approach to LNAV/VNAV minima).
