Question MLS ... dead or alive?

I don't fly a lot to Europe at the moment, but I was wondering if any of you out there ever fly MLS approaches. I know that AMS (EHAM) has one. Is there anything special/interesting about it (besides the mandatory ground school facts)? e.g. lower landing miniums, difference CATs, reduced a/c separation?

IF there are people out there flying those, what kind of receivers (make & model) do you use?

The MLS is also capable of multiple curved approach paths too!

And perhaps most importantly it was an AUSSIE invention as well!!

Dying. Eventually to be superceeded by DGPS. (Differential GPS where a local ground transmitter retransmits a more accurate GPS signal).

BA had MLS receivers in their 744s, switch now inop.

The RN use it on their carriers for their Sea Harrier ops though.
