Leg Transition As Viewed in PLAN Mode

G'day, PPRuNers.

If you are looking at the ND/EHSI PLAN in flight (747-400, 767, 737NG) and you are approaching the active waypoint, with the FMC LEGS page selected.. and the LEGS' "{CTR}" annunciation is positioned on that active waypoint... what happens when the aircraft passes over the active waypoint? Does the PLAN reposition itself, basically, instantaneously to the new active waypoint and the LEGS page waypoints move one line up? Or doesn't the Map move at all? (Until maybe you have moved away from the PLAN mode and gone back again?).

As no-one generally looks at the PLAN page at a time like this, I'm having trouble finding a quick answer to this.

Thanks.
Regards.

The waypoint cycles instantly to the next waypoint (747-400).

I only know this because I noticed it when I was taking a movie of it with my digital camera one night. Newer -400s have a neat-looking airplane graphic on the ND in PLAN mode...

"The waypoint cycles instantly to the next waypoint (747-400)."

Thanks, Intruder!

I was hoping that you'd specifically mention the new type

I assume that this is the same for other LCD types, guys/gals?

Cheers.

The 737NG has the same displays (as well as the 777 I believe). And yes; the center waypoint in MAP cycles to the next one, just as on the LEGS page on the CDU.

Happy flights
