Call for papers - light aviation technical conference

I can hardly deny having an involvement, but hope I may be forgiven some non-commercial advertising; the following will shortly be going up on the Royal Aeronautical Society's website...

Royal Aeronautical Society

4 Hamilton Place, London, UK, W1J 7BQ.

CURRENT AND FUTURE DEVELOPMENTS IN LIGHT AVIATION

20/21 September 2003

- first call for papers.

Cambridge, England.

In September 2003, the Royal Aeronautical Society will be holding a 2-day conference entitled Current and future developments in light aviation. As with previous RAeS light aviation conferences, it to be set at a modest cost, so as to attract a large number of working level professionals and informed amateurs from the worldwide light aviation community.

We hope to attract papers covering as wide a range of subjects within light aviation as possible. Subjects might include design tools, materials, manufacturing processes, airworthiness issues, testing, training or operations. Coverage will not include rotary wing aircraft.

In the first instance we’d like to receive proposals no later than 31 March 2003 and to the address above. These should include:-

- An abstract, in no more than 400 words.
- Your name, address and Email address.
- A brief summary of your background and experience in light aviation.

By 15 May 2003 the society hopes to submit formal invitations to prepare and present papers. In order to allow printing of proceedings before the conference, these will then be needed by 22 August 2003.

More details about the conference programme, and application forms for ordinary attendees, will be in the society’s normal publications and at http://www.raes.org.uk/light-av/ from about April 2003. If in the meantime you have specific questions about the detail of the conference, or wish to discuss a proposal for a paper, please contact either myself or my Vice Chairman Guy Gratton via Email.

Yours sincerely,

John Edgley
Chairman
Light Aviation Group, Royal Aeronautical Society
