Shemya? Midway? Johnston? Majuro?

Whas the current ETOPs situation in the North and Central Pacific? Is Shemya still allowed? Is Midway gone for good? And Johnston Island? Has Majuro never been a suitable alternate?

When a large transport category jet is on one engine over one big ocean then any 6000+ feet pavement becomes a suitable airport. For planning purposes MAJ has a long runway but it may not be a preferred ETOPS alternate only because it lacks hotel space and terminal infrastructure. Although my equipment is not subjected to ETOPS phenomena (two engines), if I were hanging on one engine with several hundred pax at night in the middle of the Pacific, I wouldn't casually be bypassing a place like MAJ.
