B757 Fuel Control?

The B757 (RR) engine fuel schematic shows inputs to the fuel control from the flaps and landing gear. The text gives no clues as to why.

Any ideas?

Bally

Dunno the 757 but I'd hazard a guess at grd/flt idle.
In the air flaps up................ grd idle.
In the air with flaps down...... flt. idle.
On landing squat s/ws made engs revert to grd. idle. (after a short delay!)

Just about...

In the air, flaps up with Anti-Ice OFF...low idle
In the air, flaps in ldg config................high idle
In the air, anti-ice on...........................high idle
