Moment to activate Direct Law

Hello guys 🙌
Is there any thoughts, why the direct law is activated by L/G extension?
Some of failures like all SEC’s fault bring the A/C to Direct Law after landing Flaps extension. But for most double failures the moment to drop L/G only triggers the Direct Law activation. Why?

A long time ago, think it was the yellow I lost, had a leak and all fluid gone…..

Likewise lost one system, and it was a bit of a non event really - this was on a later MSN however so loss of yellow also meant loss of NWS.

Loss of the B system on the 737 was somewhat more annoying, but that is in the dim and distant past for me!
