A320 NEO idle drag

Does the A320 NEO have more drag with thrust IDLE compared to the CEO due to the bigger engines from your experience? Or it doesn't make a difference (for the descent profile)?

If the 1A is anything like the 1B, it's likely the opposite.

Thrust levers at idle at 30 ft works fine on the CEO with IAE engines, not quite so on the NEO.

Compared to the IAE engines, it certainly seems that way. They aren't quite disk-ing turboprops, but to my experience they are certainly approaching it.

I can only talk for the IAE versus NEOs ( PW1000G) .The NEO definitely descent faster and float less during the flare after setting idle thrust. Also a quick comparison in the QRH shows the distance required for descent is less for the NEO versus the CEOs ( IAE engines).

I wonder if it is more due to the huge engines ("ice cream scoops") on the wing acting as additional drag, compared to the other engines. Instead of idle factor

due to geared turbofan

I think it's reasonable that n1 is geared with n2.

Neo has a bigger fan so higher drag when idling.
