Red face Relation between aspect ratio and stall angle

Greetings everyone,
I am trying to understand the relationship between aspect ratio and stall angle. As I have been reading that high aspect ratio aerofoils have a lower stall angle compared to low aspect ratio aerofoils. How exactly is stall angle affected ?

A low aspect-ratio wing has a greater induced downwash which results in a lower effective angle of attack.
