Yes, keep it simple. The FCOM that your employer will give you will have all the info you need to know. The rest comes by using it over time, but it's simple.

This hasn't been mentioned in all the hair splitting around ISA DEV:

I like to put the FAF and crossing altitude in the DESC page. I use it to monitor the path, regardless of what is shown on the legs.

That's what I do. Either FAP/FAF or runway depending on where I come from. Usually at 30nm if the required V/S to make the actual VB is around at 1500-1600 fpm at 250 kts then I'm in good shape. When it indicates around 2.2° I decelerate in V/S with a rate of descent of around 700 fpm. Still perfecting it, but works a treat to get continuous CDA.

The only colleagues I've seen using it are ex-Air Force pilots and those with a past on Embraer.
