Glareshield cockpit prep scan Airbus
Does anyone know the reason why Airbus would like “both pilots seated” for the glareshield scan? I know this has changed across the Airbus types due to commonality between types. It is present on the A380 which I believe has originally driven this change also into the A320 cockpit preparation scans?
Anybody know the answer?

In our SOP, the glareshield is checked out loud by both pilots. The PF will initiate the glareshield check by announcing '' Glareshield'' and then when every things are set both pilots will call '' Checked". For that reason, it's a must that both pilots are seated.

Thank you for your reply pine team. There must be a technical reason behind this however which is what I am trying to get to the bottom of.

Sounds like you guys may be talking about different things. Are you talking about the initial setup of all the switches and settings that can be done by one pilot, or the response to the checklist where both have to check and reply? I'm not fluent in Airbusese, but I've taken "scan" to mean "flow," as in what's done from memory before the checklist. Am I right or wrong on this?
If it's the initial flow, I see no reason both have to be there.
If it's the final "checked" response after the crew has briefed the departure and otherwise gotten themselves on the same page regarding all the autopilot/navigation settings, etc. then obviously both have to be there.
