A330 Selected non-precision approach above airport alt 5000ft

Hello there,

The PRO-NOR-SOPS expanded say to use the selected FPA approach with an airport alt above 5000ft for a Non-precision approach.
I can't see exactly why, you would still select say 3 degrees on the FCU FPA. If managed surely the managed FINAL APP would target the same FPA internally?

Cheers
Apple

Hi. I fly A330 at TAP Air Portugal. I see no reference to this limitation on our manual. The only reason for having to use FPA is if the temperature is below the temperature limit for that chart or if the Accuracy is Low. Other than that, there is no limitation to use the FINAL Managed mode for the approach.
