A320 REV Unlocked

Hi all,

If you have to shut down an engine due to a Reverser unlocked, the ECAM ENG 1(2) SHUT DOWN STATUS page (according to the FCOM) has condition statements: “4 doors not stowed (CFM)” or “1, 2, or 3 doors not stowed (CFM)”.

My question is does the system know how many doors are not stowed and only show the applicable procedure? If not then how can you tell how many are not stowed? I’m expecting this failure in an upcoming sim session and hoping we don’t get 4 doors unlocked cos it doesn’t seem like an easy procedure

Many thanks

I can’t answer this from personal experience of this fault, however if you look at the introduction section to abnormal procedures ( FCOM ) it shows what is displayed on ECAM and what isn’t.

As the options “4 reverses unlocked” or “1, 2, 3 “ etc are written in lower case letters (small letters) this says to me that the ECAM won’t display this content and therefore will detect and display the appropriate part only ( I.e either 4 unlocked procedure or 1, 2 or 3 unlocked procedure ).
